Senior Manager/Supervisor
The Director/Vice President leads complex public and private vertical construction programs while driving the strategic, operational, and financial objectives of the firm. Acting as a trusted advisor and company officer, this role blends field-proven construction expertise with senior-level leadership to ensure successful project delivery, client satisfaction, risk mitigation, and team development. With over two decades of industry experience, the Director/Vice President leverages deep technical knowledge, operational acumen, and fiduciary responsibility to represent both the firm and the client with integrity, insight, and impact.
Core Responsibilities
  • Lead a business unit or major function with strategic impact, responsible for delivering financial performance, client success, and operational excellence.
  • Identify opportunities for growth, diversification, mergers, acquisitions, and service expansion.
  • Participate in executive-level decision-making on resourcing, budgeting, and long-term planning.
  • Represent the company in high-profile internal and external engagements, championing corporate values and brand.
  • Drive performance metrics, including revenue, profit/loss, utilization, and client satisfaction.
  • Provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for multi-phase construction projects, from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients, design teams, contractors, and regulators—always representing the client’s best interests.
  • Lead constructability reviews, procurement strategies, contract negotiations, and risk mitigation initiatives.
  • Provide technical oversight across CM-at-Risk, Design-Build, and Design-Bid-Build projects.
  • Monitor jobsite performance through regular site visits, ensuring safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
  • Step in as project executive or fill temporary project management gaps to maintain continuity and delivery excellence.
  • Act as the face of the company to high-level client representatives, elected officials, community members, and regulatory agencies.
  • Resolve complex project issues diplomatically and effectively, maintaining the firm’s reputation and client trust.
  • Lead responses to RFPs/RFQs, oversee fee proposals, and represent the firm in project interviews.
  • Review and negotiate contracts, change orders, subconsultant scopes, and commercial terms.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with internal risk standards and client requirements.
  • Manage project financials, reporting, forecasts, and internal project setup within PM software systems.
  • Oversee and mentor a team of senior managers, directors, and technical staff.
  • Develop and implement talent management plans, including annual performance reviews, compensation recommendations, and staff development goals.
  • Provide technical coaching in construction delivery, negotiation, and problem-solving.
  • Conduct labor and revenue forecasting, review timesheets, and approve internal project management processes.
Qualifications
  • 20+ years of experience in vertical construction management, including executive oversight and complex operational environments (e.g., healthcare, civic, senior living, higher education).
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on projects exceeding $100M+ in construction value.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, construction delivery methods (CM-at-Risk, Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build), and regulatory compliance.
  • In-depth understanding of project finance, labor forecasting, and business unit performance metrics.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ownership mindset and commitment to ethics, transparency, and client advocacy.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to office locations, job sites, client meetings, and public engagements, especially within the San Francisco Bay Area.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $180K-$285K. This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate
